A Natural Choice
When I first began creating seasonal face oils, it wasn’t just about formulating. It was about listening—listening to what the Earth was offering in each season, and what our skin and bodies truly needed in that moment.
Seasonal formulation is about being present with change. The plants change. The air changes. Light shifts. Our skin, our nervous system, our energy… it all responds. I started to wonder what might happen if formulating didn’t try to override those rhythms, but moved with them instead.
When life stopped, I noticed what I’d been missing
Some time ago, I became unwell with an autoimmune condition and my life came to a sudden halt. It was then that I realised I had lost my own connection with Nature.
Not dramatically. Not all at once. Just slowly, quietly, over time.
The slow drift away from what nourished me
I used to go away to the country every weekend. I rode my horse almost daily. Being outside, surrounded by trees and sky was how I breathed.
But as life became busier, I found myself spending more time at the computer and less under open air. I didn’t “choose” to disconnect. It happened through small trades: one more task, one more late night, one more week where Nature became something I admired from a distance instead of something I lived inside.
And my body noticed.
Nature was speaking… and my body was listening
When that realisation landed, I started paying attention to how my body responded to the simplest things:
soft winter light through the trees
the warmth and lift of spring sun
the grounding comfort of autumn roots and resins
the freshness of summer greens and florals
It wasn’t mystical. It was physical. My nervous system softened. My breathing changed. My skin felt different. It was as if Nature was reminding me: this is what you’re made of. This is what you return to.
Why my oils are seasonal, plant-based, and small-batch
That’s why my face oils are small-batch, seasonal, and plant-based, not because it’s fashionable, but because it’s what my own healing demanded.
I wanted to create skincare that moved with the Earth: skincare that honours skin as alive and ever-changing, not something to “fix,” but something to support. Something that adapts, the way we do.
In each season, different plants offer different gifts: cooling, warming, calming, uplifting, restoring. Formulating this way feels like a conversation rather than a formula.
The bigger question I can’t unsee
It makes me pause and ask:
How much of our modern imbalance comes from losing touch with Nature?
Maybe the answer is different for all of us. Maybe for some it’s more emotional, for others more physical. But I know this:
Finding my way back to Nature changed everything.
And perhaps the return doesn’t have to be dramatic. Maybe it starts with a smaller decision, made daily: stepping outside for light, breathing near trees, noticing the season you’re in… and letting your skin be part of that story too.
